 'So here is my Navy Boot Camp (Great Lakes, IL) Graduation picture.
My active duty time was 10/1/1958 through 9/30/1962. I reached the rank of E-5, Petty Officer Second Class. I was an Electronics Technician, with special training in Crypto Repair. After graduation from ET School, I went on board the Light Cruiser, USS Galveston, CLG-3. Mostly Caribbean cruises, then Naval Base Philadelphia for refitting. Transferred to CAG 2, USS Canberra. In January 1962 we left on a nine month Mediterranean cruise. By the time we finished that cruise, I was in charge of Radio Room and Crypto Repair ET's/equipment, was Task Group Specialist on my assigned Crypto gear, had been helicoptered from CAG 2 to a Destroyer Escort, and Hi-lined from CAG 2 to a Destroyer to assist on board ETs repair their crypto units.
