600827  Classmate Barbara McMorris and her husband, Stan, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 27, 2010

My marriage to Stan Armstrong, of St. Joseph, Michigan, took place on August 27, 1960, at First Baptist Church, Pittsfield. My sister, Karen McMorris (now Erdley), was maid of honor, and PHS classmates Barbara Hoag and Ann Russ, with two of my Bates College classmates, served as bridesmaids. PHS classmate Janet Allison was vocal soloist.

The celebration of our 50th anniversary included a family picnic on Saturday, August 21, with sons Ben and Jon and their families present, followed by a delightful stay at the Mersey River Chalets, Caledonia, Nova Scotia (near Kejimkujik National Park where we frequently camped when our sons were growing up) on August 26-28. A belated, more formal celebration is planned for August, 2011, when son Chris and his family will be able to travel from Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, to be with the rest of our family. That event will include the celebration of Chris and Sharon’s 25th anniversary along with our 51st.
