Jim Blache's comments about his naval career:

The guy without the hat taken around 1957 just after I went into the Navy at the Reserve Training Center on the Boulevard - the guy with the hat was taken just about 3 years before I retired in 1981 from the Naval Personal Support Detachment, Cecil Field, Florida

My duty stations from 1957 to the end:
Commander Training Command, Norfolk, VA
U.S. Naval Forces, London, England
Naval Reserve Training Center, Springfield, Massachusetts
Destroyer Squadron Two (USS Blandy) Norfolk, VA
River Patrol Squadron Staff, Vietnam
Naval Coastal Systems Laboratory, Panama City, Florida
U.S. Atlantic Fleet Inspector General Staff, Norfolk, Va
USS Forrestal in Jacksonville, Florida
Naval Personal Support Detachment, Cecil Field, FL

Retirement April 1981

Started out as an E1 - Was a Warrant Officer (CWO2) upon retirement and maintain the rate of Master Chief Petty Officer (E9) in retirement.
not very exciting but it was an enjoyable time

Joined the reserves when I was in senior year of high school (my dad had to sign for me because I had not graduated yet) Retired in 1981 at whatever age that might have been - with about 23 years of active duty.
